DOWDESWELL VILLAGE HALL
As part of a wider programme of renovations to mark the upcoming 100th anniversary of the village hall, a series of electrical upgrades were carried out to improve safety, functionality, and energy efficiency.
The hall, a central feature of community life for nearly a century, required modern infrastructure while maintaining its traditional charm.
The works included the installation of four high-level LED lights within the main hall. These fittings provide bright, energy-efficient illumination suitable for a range of activities and events, while also reducing maintenance needs. To improve the hall’s exterior, two decorative lanterns were installed to complement a newly constructed entrance step, enhancing both visibility and visual appeal in keeping with the building’s historic character.

Internally, the entire hall was rewired to meet modern electrical standards. All new electrical cables were surface-mounted in steel conduits, ensuring both durability and a clean, practical finish that remains sympathetic to the hall’s repointed interior. A new fuse board was also installed to provide a safe and future-proof electrical system, capable of supporting further developments as needed.

These upgrades form an important part of the hall’s broader restoration, ensuring that the building is fit for continued use by the community while preserving its historical significance.
